Essen, July 2019 – DIAG has provided a seven-digit sum through its affiliated company, Euro Khan, for the purpose of modernising a fluorspar plant in Mongolia. Work is going according to schedule and is due to be completed by the end of the year.
Fluorspar, also known as fluorite, is used by the industry as a flux in steel production, for melting and manufacturing certain types of glass and enamel. After China and Mexico, Mongolia is the world’s third largest exporter of this mineral.
Once the revamp has been completed by the industrial service provider from Essen, Germany, the plant will be directed by one of Euro Khan’s subsidiaries. During the next 15 years, approx. 50,000 tonnes of fluorite will be mined annually.
