Essen, March 2021 – A consortium comprising Deutsche Industrieanlagen GmbH (DIAG) and the Bulgarian company Glavbolgarstroy, named “DZZD Ferrostaal Balkangaz”, has handed over to Bulgartransgaz a turn key gas compressor station in Rasovo in the Montana region. The key equipment at the “CS Rasovo” site are 3 compression units supplied by the US American company Solar Turbines. The units are equipped with low emission technology to fulfill Bulgarian environmental regulations.

Following the conclusion of an EPC contract worth EUR 180 million with Bulgartransgaz EAD in October 2019 for the construction (EPC turn key) of two compressor stations, the first station has thus been completed. The Bulgarian National Construction Control Directorate issued the use permit for Rasovo already in December 2020.

The second station, “CS Nova Provadia”, is situated in the Vetrino municipality in the Varna region and is currently under construction. It will be equipped with 4 compressor units. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2021.

“The cooperation with our client and our consortium partner has been excellent and we will further intensify it in the coming years. The focus is on modernising and thus optimising the energy efficiency of existing pipelines. The region offers further project approaches, which we will also actively pursue with our partners in the areas of renewable energies and in the technical after-market business,” says Dr Klaus Lesker, Managing Partner of the DIAG Group.
